Acknowledgement & Informed Consent

Please read this information carefully. By purchasing a ticket and participating in “Yin & Pins: Welcoming Autumn”, you provide informed consent to receive acupuncture as part of a group-setting wellness session.

Nature of Treatment

You will receive acupuncture administered by a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner. Treatment will involve the insertion of sterile, single-use acupuncture needles and/or the application of press tacks (small, sterile needles with adhesive backing) at specific points on the body. These treatments are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. Participants may be physically touched by the practitioner during the process of locating acupuncture points and applying treatment.

Purpose of Treatment

This treatment is intended to support relaxation, general well-being, and balance of the body’s energy. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or care. You are encouraged to consult your primary healthcare provider regarding any ongoing medical concerns.

Risks and Side Effects

Acupuncture is generally considered a safe procedure when performed by a registered practitioner. However, some risks and side effects may include:

  • Temporary discomfort or bruising at the needle site

  • Minor bleeding

  • Dizziness, faintness, or feeling lightheaded during or after the session

  • Rarely, a temporary worsening of symptoms

  • Infection is an unlikely risk due to the use of sterile, single-use needles and adherence to strict hygiene protocols

Precautions

Please inform the practitioner before the session if you:

  • Have a bleeding disorder or low blood pressure

  • Are taking anticoagulants (blood thinners)

  • Have a pacemaker or implanted medical device

  • Are pregnant or may be pregnant

  • Have any known allergies, particularly to metal or adhesives

  • Have had previous adverse reactions to acupuncture
