Dear Michelle,

My name is Eleisha (El). I graduated from Endeavour College at the end of last year & have spent my first year in practice running my own business, Centred Health, from a clinic in West End. In October I also launched my version of a community clinic; group-setting acupuncture on Monday evenings with a focus on mental & emotional well-being. This has been a true passion project & a source of deep fulfilment.

A little about my Chinese Medicine journey so far...

My mid-life career shift into acupuncture was driven by a forever-held desire to help people & a natural sensitivity to energetics. These were parts of myself that were no longer being nourished through my earlier careers as a fine artist & hospitality manager. The pause during COVID gave me the clarity to pursue my purpose, & I enrolled in the Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture Therapies) in July 2020.

During my second & third year, I worked part-time with Adele Bishop at Acubalance. My role included reception, note-taking, & performing massage & cupping. Some evenings we ran four rooms together, & I learned a huge amount from Adele about managing a busy, efficient clinic.

In my final year, I worked as a clinic assistant at Kirsty Eng Fertility. While my work was mostly reception-focused, I gained strong exposure to complex fertility cases & deepened my knowledge of women’s health from both a Western & Chinese Medicine perspective, including supplements & herbal approaches.

In both these clinics, I naturally found myself embodying what I consider one of my core strengths: a heart-centred, grounding presence. Practitioners & patients alike have reflected that they feel held, soothed, & supported in my care.

My current approach to practice weaves together Eastern & Western knowledge with a strong energetic & spiritual dimension. I am particularly passionate about women’s health, emotional well-being, & digestive health. I see fertility as a natural consequence of a balanced nervous system, harmonious hormones, smooth flow of Qi & Blood, & a deep connection between mind & body.

This year I turned 40, & interestingly I’ve found that I tend to attract young women in their early 20s seeking “big sister” energy, as well as women in their late 40s to early 50s looking for a grounded, integrative, & embodied guide for their health.

I truly love being part of a team & having a sense of community; a dynamic I have deeply missed while working solo this year. I would love the opportunity to meet you & have a conversation if you feel my energy & experience might be a good fit for Ova & your patients.

Warmly,

El
